THE WHAT:

Imagine a single platform that transforms payments and collections for Lagos' informal sector. Pay4IT empowers individuals and businesses with tools like a versatile POS terminal, real-time dashboards, and incentives to make transactions seamless and efficient.

THE WHY:

The informal sector, comprising 75% of Lagos' labor force, faces challenges like fragmented payment systems, cash-driven operations, and limited access to modern financial tools. Pay4IT aims to address these gaps by digitizing payments, improving transparency, and fostering growth through tailored solutions that meet the sector's unique needs.

THE HOW:

Pay4IT's approach involves understanding the informal sector's needs, behaviors, and pain points. Through extensive research, the platform was designed to provide integrated payment systems, incentivize compliance with a reward model, and empower users with tools like intuitive dashboards. By aligning innovation with user needs, Pay4IT ensures its solutions drive real impact.

THE BIG PLAN:

Create a user-friendly and intuitive design framework for Pay4IT’s POS terminal and dashboard interface, ensuring seamless navigation and usability.
Make Everything Easy. Streamline the interface to ensure users of all skill levels can easily perform transactions, view insights, and manage collections without confusion or delays.

CONSLUSION.

Working as a product designer on Pay4IT has been an exciting journey. From user research to designing an intuitive POS system and dashboard, we’ve focused on simplifying transactions and empowering the informal sector.
The project, currently under development and set to launch in the first quarter of 2025, has been both challenging and rewarding. Designing for first-time digital users and diverse needs has pushed us to innovate, making this a fulfilling experience that reinforces my passion for impactful fintech solutions.
